Mindfulness is a practice of intentionally paying attention to what is happening in the current moment while developing clarity and broadening our view of whatever arises. Over time, mindfulness becomes a state of openness to experience which allows for greater balance and joy. Recent research documents evidence of mindfulness traits such as increased focus, greater empathy, enhanced emotional regulation, resiliency, and reduced levels of stress. Underlying the buzzword “Mindfulness,” is a set of well-established practices and benefits experienced by millions over thousands of years which anyone can learn.

Kate employs various approaches to mindfulness for adults and youth that stay true to the origins of the practice with flexible innovations to meet her students at any level of experience or life circumstance.
